Join us for “Journalism and Peacebuilding” at the 2017 Canadian School of Peacebuilding with instructor David Balzer. There is evidence on a daily basis of the power of media to fuel or mitigate conflict in our world. Using a series of case studies and the chance to interact with working journalists and communication professionals, this course will provide an overview of journalism theory, emphasizing journalism’s ideals, commitments and the opportunities it provides society to consider and value non-violent responses to conflict.

This course is available for professional development, personal inspiration or academic credit. People who may benefit from this course include NGO staff and interns, activists and peace educators, community leaders, religious leaders, teachers and professors, undergraduate or graduate students, government officials, and anyone interested in peace work.

Email csop@cmu.ca for more information. Your application is not complete and your seat in the course is not reserved until we have received full payment.
